Trade Ministry Begins Disbursement of ¢282 million to Boost Industrialisation

September 15, 2021

The Ministry of Trade and Industry has begun disbursing ¢282 million to businesses to revive the industrial sector from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. These funds were allocated to the Ministry of Trade by the Ministry of Finance under the Ghana Covid-19 Alleviation and Revitalisation Enterprises Support to strengthen the trade and industry sector.

According to the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, this is part of the Government’s efforts to ensure targeted reforms to increase Foreign Direct Investments in Ghana. He further stated that the Ministry has accelerated efforts to build industrial parks and special economic zones across the country to encourage the impressive trajectory of Foreign Direct Investments. The Ministry has also established business resource centres to provide relevant business venture information and technical resources to private sector investors.

It is hoped that this disbursement will increase Foreign Direct Investments in Ghana and fast-track the growth of #industrialisation in Ghana.
